Topic Unveiling the Invisible: Navigating Naturally Occurring Radiation (NORM)

David will delve into the world of NORM and its presence in our environment. What should safety and/or environmental professions know about NORM? NORM may be present in industries such as Mining, Energy production,  Water treatment and Consumer products (e.g., Fertilizer and Fertilizer Production Wastes, Cigarettes, Building Materials and Granite Countertops).  Discover the relative risks associated with NORM, explore its sources and accumulation, and gain insights into potential health effects. Learn how to detect and protect yourself from this often overlooked but significant natural phenomenon in a captivating presentation that promises to shed light on the unseen.
