Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Geographical Locations: Bakersfield, Ca and outlying areas. Most of the work will be done out of the corporate office in Bakersfield, Ca

Provides emergency medical support by responding to emergencies & stabilizing / packaging patients if needed.

Duties are but not limited to:

  • Completing operator vehicle inspections; inventorying supplies; correcting deficiencies.
  • Responds to emergencies by choosing route; observing traffic conditions; avoiding dangerous situations; maintaining communications.
  • Determines medical and safety requirements at emergency scene by assessing medical status of ill or injured persons; assessing prevailing circumstances; calling for support if needed.
  • Stabilizes ill or injured persons by rendering first aid; relaying status to medical personnel.
  • Maintains order at emergency scene by controlling access; providing information to friends and relatives.
  • Maintains safe and healthy conditions by following organization medical standards and legal regulations.
  • Clears emergency scene by transporting victims if needed or required. EMS normally transports victims.
  • Completes reports by entering required information.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Required Training

  • EMT certified – California and National Registry if possible
  • First Aid CPR Train the trainer, Not required but preferred
  • Oil field experience is a plus
  • Confined Space Rescue experience is a plus

The position is responsible for administering and managing the Safety and Health Management System, and the corresponding regulations that relate to the safety of our work, for an assigned location in pursuit of continuous safety improvement.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  1. Partner with Company team members, owner representatives, clinics, medical/testing facilities to ensure effective working relationships.
  2. Administer and manage compliance with the Company’s Safety and Health Management System and Group incident prevention efforts to ensure company safety goals are met.
  3. Advise changes and/or adjust work procedures as required to ensure the safety of affected employees and/or the general public.
