Assist with facilitating UFSC Health and Safety Program in ensuring a safe, healthy and
incident free work environment for all employees. Assist the UFSC HSE Manager by
providing safety coverage and oversight on the job and project locations. Additional office
work may be required to assist with reporting and compliance measures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage with team members in the field, on the job and coach/correct findings as needed
- Lead by example in compliance with UFSC policies, programs and procedures
- Complete job site audits
- Conducts job safety analysis, inspections, and assessments for system improvements
- Assist in facilitating weekly safety meetings
- Complete jobsite safety inspections such as: First Aid Kits, Fire Extinguishers, Extension Cords, Ladders, Confined Spaces, etc.
- Mentor and monitor short service employees (SSE program)
- Facilitate training
- Attend and complete additional trainings as needed to facilitate specific trainings for employees
- Complete drug testing: monthly, random, post incident/accident
- Assist with on-boarding/new hire training
- Calibrate gas detection devices
- Create USA Dig packages, work 811 process
- Report all accidents, injuries, near misses, stop work authority to supervisor and HSE manager immediately after occurrence
- Assist in incident/accident investigations
- Attend requested client/project safety meetings, as needed
- Manage PPE inventory and fulfill PPE orders, as needed
- Complete daily timecards and daily field sheets for project specific tasks
- Communicates safety related matters to company utilizing emails, technology devices while facilitating safety tailgate meetings and one on one interactions
- Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government/state regulations
- Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
Associates degree in Occupational Health, Business Administration or related field and 3+
years’ experience in-field safety leadership is preferred. ( Will accept an equivalent
combination of education and/or extensive Safety related experience)
Pre-employment Requirements
- Must possess a valid CA driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to adhere to the Company’s zero tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy.
- All candidates must submit to a pre-employment physical examination and drug/alcohol screen as a condition for employment.
Work Environment
This job operates predominately in an outdoor environment. This role will be exposed to
field conditions under the typical California Central Valley climatic conditions –
temperature, dust / gas / fumes, noise, sunlight. This job may require out-of-town,
overnight and or extended workdays.

Pay $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
