Oldenkamp Trucking Inc. is hiring a Safety Coordinator in Bakersfield, CA.

Pay: $51,130.12 – $61,576.06 per year

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to champion workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and monitor safety procedures across our manufacturing facilities, fostering a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement. Your expertise will help protect our team members, reduce risks, and promote a safe working environment where everyone can thrive.

Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Lead Safety drills, emergency response plans to ensure readiness.
  • Lead safety training sessions and development programs toeducate employees on OSHA requirements, first aid procedures, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and other emergency protocols. Lead safety trainings, certify supervisor and employees, contractors, including PPE use.
  • Investigate workplace incidents by performing root cause analysis, preparing detailed report writing, and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
    Ensure compliance with workers’ compensation law by managing injury reports, facilitating claims processes, and supporting injured employees through recovery.
    Maintain accurate safety documentation, records of training activities, incident reports, and audit findings for regulatory review.
  • Collaborate with management to foster a culture of occupational health awareness and continuous safety improvement.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and industrial hygiene studies.
    Oversee DOT drug and alcohol testing programs and commercial driver licensing compliance.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and analyze trends to improve workplace safety.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation law, EPA standards, and occupational health best practices.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on safety management.
  • Excellent report writing skills for incident documentation, audit reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to identify underlying issues behind safety incidents.
  • Certified in first aid, CPR, and OSHA safety training; additional certifications in EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) are a plus.
  • Skilled in developing engaging training & development programs that promote safety awareness among diverse teams.
