Topic: Third-party Safety Consultants may be liable to workers under new ruling

David Blaine will discuss the wide ranging implications to the safety profession including independent consultants, insurance brokers and others. For the first time, a California appellate court has applied the common law theory of negligent undertaking to a safety consultancy, allowing the parents of a deceased employee to sue a third party safety consultant. The appellate court reversed summary judgment in favor of the consultant and remanded the lawsuit back to the Superior Court. David will help us understand what all this means!
