Topic Human and Organizational Performance: Part 1 – The Why and The What

This presentation will start with an introduction to Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) e.g. What is HOP and why should I as a safety professional investigate it? Is it old or is it new? Why and how would safety professionals make a case for HOP in their organization?

Speaker Katerina L. Bond, Senior Human and Organizational Performance Advisor, Chevron Technology, Projects & Services

Katerina (Kat) Bond has been a Senior Human and Performance Advisor for Chevron Technical Center starting in 2017. In that capacity, she works with a central team to consult with the company’s leaders and staff around the world to integrate Human and Organizational Performance principles and concepts into the operations and deliver results in the right way. Prior to her current role, she was the Incident Investigation and Reporting/Data Analysis Team Lead for Chevron North America Exploration and Production supporting the Gulf of Mexico operations from Houston, Texas where she focused on the journey to becoming a learning organization.  She started with Chevron in 2009 in its San Joaquin Valley Business Unit field operations in Bakersfield, California.

Kat began her career in Tucson, Arizona working within the administration of an exclusive addiction treatment facility, followed by working with the leadership team of a juvenile justice facility. After several years, she relocated to Bakersfield, California and joined a small regional electrical contractor helping set the strategic growth of the organization that took the company from approximately 100 personnel to over 200 personnel inside of 10 years. As a member of the management team, she developed a support services organization that synergized safety, loss control, information technologies, equipment management, contract administration and human resources.  After leaving the electrical contractor in 2006, she formed her own consulting company to focus on system improvement with a focus on cultural nourishment. Kat has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Management from CSUB. She has a special educational focus on organizational and leadership behavior with experience in leading change through emotional intelligence. She has led developed and led many process improvement projects. She enjoys cooking and new experiences and sharing the HOP journey with others.
